About MRF card

From a single Universal card in 2017 to a 19-product modular EDC ecosystem in 2026 — MRF Tools makes credit-card-sized engineering for engineers, makers, travelers, and anyone who carries their workshop in a wallet.

10 Kickstarter campaigns funded · $238K+ raised · 4,000+ backers worldwide.

Four product categories. One philosophy.

MRF multitool credit cards are CNC-machined precision tools designed around a single constraint: they must fit in a standard wallet slot (85 × 54 mm, 1.5–3 mm thick). Within that constraint, we pack dozens of useful functions — wrenches, rulers, sundials, cutting edges, bit drivers, fire starters, fishing hooks — depending on the mission you choose.

Today the catalog spans 13 multitool cards (Universal series + mission-specific), 3 knives (folding + credit-card blades), 2 pocket tools, and 1 wallet that organizes everything. Each card is machined from solid Grade 5 Titanium or hardened 440C stainless steel, hand-polished, laser-engraved, and shipped from Ukraine.

Supplementing and replacing classic multi-tools

MRF cards complement classic multitools like Leatherman, Victorinox, and SOG — and in many everyday situations replace them. Where a Leatherman gives you 17 tools at 8.5 oz that lives on your belt, the Universal 5.0 gives you 70+ functions at 1 oz that lives in your wallet. For tightening a screw, cutting rope, opening packages, measuring distances, or starting a fire — you don't need pliers. You need a tool that's actually with you when you need it.

And for the engineering-specific functions that no traditional multitool offers — protractors, isometric grids, drill gauges, sundial compasses, distance estimators, drafting circles — MRF cards are the only thing that fits in a wallet.

EDC cards for everyone — Universal series with 60+, 70+ and 80+ tools in 1

The MRF Tools Universal series is the backbone of our catalog — three generations of credit-card multitools that have shipped to thousands of EDC enthusiasts worldwide.

Three generations, one design philosophy:

  • Universal 3.0 — 60+ tools, modular handle system, sundial compass, full Metric & Imperial wrench set. The proven workhorse.
  • Universal 4.0 — 80+ tools, TSA-safe (no blade), engineering instruments (moon-phase calendar, earth parallel meter, distance ruler). The traveler's choice.
  • Universal 5.0 — 70+ tools, dual-blade design merging the best of 3.0 and 4.0, latest engineering. The flagship of 2026.

Who they're for:
